Saulo's new book, MMA debuts and results

* Saulo's new book is now available. You can purchase online for $31.96 from bn.com. Title of the book is Jiu-Jitsu University. ISBN-13: 9780981504438. My copy was pre-ordered and is on its way. One student already purchased his copy from Borders. It is a nice book to have in your training library.

* Mike Melki, Focus purple belt, won his MMA debut at an event held at the Seagate Center in Toledo on Saturday 10/25. He finished his opponent with a rear-naked choke in less than 2 minutes of the first round.

* John Toth, Saulo purple belt, has joined the team. He is a nice guy, good training partner, and tough competitor. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome to the academy.

* Jason Matter, Focus blue belt, competed in an MMA event recently. He dominated the guy on the ground but lost the fight standing. If you want to be successful in MMA, you have to put as much focus on stand-up as ground work. Congratulations to Jason anyway for taking the fight and giving it his all.
